Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (500g)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast (7g)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
  • 1 tsp salt (5g)
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed (240ml)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (113g)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam (160g)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add sugar, salt, eggs, and half the flour. Mix until smooth.
  2. Gradually add remaining flour while kneading until you have a soft dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until elastic. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and roll into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Spread raspberry jam evenly over the surface and roll tightly into a log.
  5. Cut the log lengthwise, twist halves together, and tuck ends under to form a loaf.
  6. Place in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
