Instructions
- Slice the brioche or challah into thick pieces, about an inch thick. Lay them out on a baking sheet to dry slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
- Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, allowing it to soak for about 10 seconds on each side.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt some butter. Cook each soaked slice for about three minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl. After cooking, immediately toss each piece of French toast in this mixture while still warm.
- Serve hot with toppings like fresh fruit or whipped cream as desired.
