Description

Experience the delightful blend of sweet figs and creamy blue cheese in this easy-to-make focaccia that will elevate any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 cup fresh figs, sliced
  • ¾ cup crumbled blue cheese
  • Additional olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water with active dry yeast. Let it sit for about five minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and sea salt. Gradually add in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until combined and knead until smooth.
  3. Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about one hour or until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough rises, slice fresh figs and crumble blue cheese; set aside.
  5. Once risen, gently press the dough onto an oiled baking sheet to shape it. Create dimples using your fingers.
  6. Top generously with sliced figs and sprinkle crumbled blue cheese over everything. Drizzle with additional olive oil.
  7. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Let the focaccia rest for about 20 minutes while preheating.
  8. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
