Description

Delight in the warm, fluffy goodness of homemade Mediterranean flatbread, perfect for dipping or savoring on its own. An easy recipe that brings everyone to the table!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for about five minutes until frothy.
  2. Add olive oil and salt to the mixture.
  3. Gradually add all-purpose flour while stirring with a wooden spoon until it forms a shaggy dough.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about eight minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about one hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough gently and divide it into six equal portions.
  7. Roll each piece into circles about one-quarter-inch thick.
  8. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for about two minutes on each side until golden brown spots appear.
