Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1¼ cups warm water (110°F/43°C)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- 1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for about five minutes until foamy.
- 2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt.
- 3. Combine Wet Ingredients: Pour the foamy yeast mixture into the dry ingredients along with minced garlic and chopped rosemary. Add olive oil.
- 4. Knead the Dough: Turn the mixture onto a floured surface and knead for about eight minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5. Let it Rise: Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl covered with a damp cloth. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about one hour or until doubled in size.
- 6. Shape & Cook: Once risen, punch down the dough gently and shape it into a round loaf. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, place the shaped bread inside, cover again, and let rise for another thirty minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for approximately thirty minutes until golden brown on top.
