  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well coated.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until the dough holds together. Divide into two discs and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out one disc on a floured surface into a rectangle, transfer to the baking sheet, and spread the apple mixture evenly on top. Roll out the second disc and place it over the filling; seal edges by pressing down.
